2010 Canadian 25-cent Remembrance Poppy/WWII 65th Anniv Coloured Quarter Coin – UNC ex Mint Roll
For all Canadians, the poppy is a poignant symbol of remembrance. By remembering the sacrifices they’ve made, we’re really saying “Thank you.” This Remembrance Day, honour every veteran and current Canadian Forces member by treasuring the Royal Canadian Mint’s new commemorative 25-cent Poppy circulation coin.
Design
The obverse design features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in right profile at 77 years old, surrounded by the Latin inscription “ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA”. This effigy was designed by Susanna Blunt.
Designed by Cosme Saffioti, the coin features a duo of iconic red poppies; Canada’s flower of remembrance, surrounding a lady in uniform. The denomination sits between the antlers. Text to the left displays the face value “25 cents”, while the date sits to the right.
